Black and White

These are my Steve Madden black and white polka dot shoes. They are so cute with the bows on the toes! I wear them with my black and white striped shirt and the combination looks well together. Who cares that I mixed dots and stripes?

Pins & Brooches

I thought it would be fun to make some broken vintage jewelry into pins. I like the result and that I can now pin them to whatever I want instead of just decoration in my room.

I was looking at http://www.style.com/ and the pins for 2011 are pretty amazing. Here are some from Dior...

My new mirror! I got this oldish mirror the other day and it just so happens to match my dressers pretty much perfectly.
This is not the best picture but you can still see how cute the bug is.
Another cute bug from the Lanvin Spring/Summer 2011 show.

Sandals!

My leather tie wedge type sandals are pretty cool. They remind me of Peter Pan for some reason. I like the fact that you can adjust the size by tying the strings. I plan on wearing these to semi casual stuff or just out and about because they look cute and fun to wear.

Some other cool sandals...

:)

I found some items that I plan on wearing on a daily basis and took some photos of them. My little brother helped me with this process and it went surprsingly well. He liked taking pictures and we shared mixed berry juice boxes together.

Everyone needs a cute hair accessory, right?
This is a cute long necklace that is adjustable so that is awesome.
This elephant is cool and reminds me of Paris-based jewelry designer Hanna Bernhard. I know about the designer from another blog http://www.seaofshoes.com/. I like her blog because of her love of vintage and interesting style. She also has an obsession with shoes! Hanna Bernhard's jewelry is magnificent. The detail that goes into each piece is amazing.

This is another broken pin I made into a necklace. I don't know why, but I really like this one.
Me wearing the necklace and a few other cool necklaces.

Presto Change-O

I have some vintage pins that have the pin part broken off of the back. I love the design of the pins so I decided to put one to good use.

Hay Bale Adventures

(Aeropostale shirt, Forever 21 skirt, Faded Glory sandals, vintage necklace and cuffs)
Hay bales are actually hard to climb up in sandals. My sister had to hoist me up there. She was basically holding all my weight. It was fun being in Pennsylvania country, walking on the dirt road, fishing, and being in the woods. It was so bright outside that day! The sun was hot and it was the perfect day to go to the lake, which we did. I played a little with the contrast and brightness of a few of these photos because the light was not quite right.

Wide-brimmed hats!

Wide-brimmed hats have been seen all over the runways. There are too many to count. The hats are here to stay showing up in many Fall collections. A cute straw wide-brimmed hat can be perfect for a summer day at the beach as well.

Hello Again 1940s

Glamourous 1940s references were on the runways for Fall/Winter 2011. Get out your tiny hats, pencil skirts, fur necklines, and polka dots because they are on trend for next season. Marc Jacobs was the leader for this trend with Yves Saint Laurent and Nina Ricci showing some of the theme.

The Starting Material...

My sweet fabric! Recently my mom and I went to Joann Fabrics to get some projects and take advantage of their 4th of July sale. We got some interesting fabric and some patterns to use. Our luck was not that great though because our bill rang up wrong and it took an extra fifteen minutes. It was worth the wait though because we didn't have to spend extra money. That's just one lessson my mom is always trying to teach me. Check your bill. I'm making a skirt out of this fabric and another one out this brown crinkled material. I'm happy to work on some creative projects and to hopefully finish them too.
Animal prints are in for summer and they look like a key item for fall too! Stars like Reese Witherspoon and Lily Collins, not to mention Transformers star Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, are sporting the prawling pattern.
